30 Day Twilight Saga Challenge - Day 9: an Edward moment/scene that you love

I only started watching these movies for “Edward” so I’d say all of his scenes are my favorites, or at least they are the only ones I care about, LOL. My favorite Edward scenes are the ones in which he does anything remotely vampire-like. These scenes are few and far between, however, as he spends most of his time moping and mumbling about something insignificant. I guess it kind of makes sense, though. Sometimes I forget he’s a really old senior citizen.

The brief flashback scene of Edward in Breaking Dawn is probably my favorite even though it is ridiculous. Going to a movie to look for rapists? Uh, ok… It also felt tacked-on. If they were going to explore Edward’s backstory (which they should have) they could have done it properly and cut out some of the pointless montages they padded the movie with. It feels like 60% of Breaking Dawn was montages and filler. It was so bogged down and boring, the pacing of this movie was awful. Maybe they didn’t give us more of Edward’s story because he’s supposed to be mysterious? Or maybe character development is too much to ask of this franchise?

Anyway, I’m going off on a tangent about Breaking Dawn here. As weird as it sounds seeing Edward Cullen murder people is the only time I’ve ever felt proud of him. We’re meant to love and admire him for fighting his natural urges, for sacrificing that for the sake of morality, but I feel the opposite. I think Edward and his family are all just a bunch of deluded weirdos. They also waste their supernatural gifts on nothing. I think the fact that Edward doesn’t do what comes naturally to him is the core reason of why he is miserable all the time. That’s what I got out of Twilight: Go with nature, follow your urges and desires, give into your vices or you’ll be a miserable prick for the rest of your life.
